Shopping

A mini-mercado (general store) is situated two minutes walk from the front door, and sells all everyday essentials including a wide selection of fresh fruit and vegetables, tinned food, fresh and frozen meat, wines and other drinks. Next door is a newsagents selling a variety of goods, including beach toys, books and stationery. In addition, there is a hair dressers and beauty salon, offering manicures, pedicures etc.

Ericeira town centre is very well-served for shopping, including the daily fresh fish market, supermarkets, general stores, bakeries, grocery stores and wine stores. In addition, there is a wide range of shops selling clothes, household goods, souvenirs and virtually anything else you could need.

Approximately 15 minutes drive away shortly before entering Mafra town, there is a Modelo hypermarket selling a vast range of food and household goods, along with an electrical store (where you can purchase a local SIM card for your mobile phone), a restaurant, and a dry-cleaners.

The town of Mafra itself is as well-served for shops as one would expect a major regional centre to be, but is distinguished by one of the largest weekly markets in Portugal which takes place in the grounds of the Convento (palace).

Finally, within easy reach (around 45 minutes drive) is the city of Lisbon, with a range of malls and other shopping options.
