It began as a day like any other before
But soon would become one to remember evermore
Friendly planes from out of the sky, struck a deadly blow
There was no telling how many or where they would go
The World Trade Center's two towers, crumble to the ground
Then our own Pentagon, became a true battleground
Firemen, Policemen, and Paramedics, too
They quickly rush to the scene, to see what they might do
Risking their lives to save strangers, answering their call
Missing victims become pictures posted on a wall
Though many lives were lost, there were many Heroes made
Volunteers worked relentlessly, as more lives were saved
Then in Pennsylvania, Heroes would meet their Fate
A true daring act, that for them would come too late
Their loss was not in vain, cause they saved so many more
For the thousands that die this day, our nation's tears pour
Mothers, Fathers, Sisters, Brothers, Daughters, Sons, Friends, gone
We shall hold you in our memories, from this day on
God blessed America, with people from many lands
Now we must stand united, together hands in hands
America stands for Freedom and for Liberty
And in this darkest hour, their price for all to see
Proud to be an American, with tears in our eyes
We will not seek revenge, but let justice be our prize
Remember 911
Will be our rally cry
We're united as one
America, tis I
In memory of those lost on Tuesday, September 11th, 2001
