A little bit about us. A tipster once pointed out that there should be some information available on those who run the show. Fair enough. Maybe an opportunity for us to rant on about our loves, hates, inspirations and personal philosophies. He also went on to say "you might as well know the people who are screwing you over". (?)
We are the administrators and we are the referees of the comp. It may be considered slightly odd, but we are also players. Most Tipsters are happy with this as they know what an honest and fair Board we are, others seem to meet with terribly ugly scores when they play their Wild Card.

 Board History

Previously, all rules modifications and decisions were supposed to be discussed by the Tribunal, but due to the unstable nature of Tribunal members retaining their positions it was decided that a committed and regular Board be set up. That decision was made by the first Board... their first important (and somewhat controversial) decision.  At the time this consisted of Don Gazzaralli and Errol.  They quickly acknowledged Funkalot's importance by including him in the Board.  During the 99NPC PJTC the Board was expanded to include Maddog and The Pipster.  This was in recognition of their ongoing contribution to PJTC Board debates and a futile attempt to lessen the workload.  After the 2002 Super 12 PJTC, Moose was promoted to the Board in another attempt to lessen the workload and to acknowledge his ongoing committment to the PJTC.

 Board Responsibilities

The Board decides on rules, penalties, format, etc as they are the administrators of the comp and therefore have the most valid opinions. The Tipmeister Tribunal keeps a watchful eye on Board proceedings and when necessary makes democratic decisions if it is not in the Comp's best interests for the Board to do so.  They are not called upon very often.

NB: It is not permitted for a member of the Board to win the Blouse. Should this ever happen, we will close the competition down.

During a comp-funded Board conference on board a luxury liner around the Pacific, we managed to come up with these official roles (and several responsible drinking games)...

  • "Don Gazzaralli" (Managing Director)

  • "Errol" (2IC, Foreign Affairs Minister, Preview and Rant Coordinator, Hitman)

  • "Funkalot" (Wizard)

  • "Maddog" (Treasurer, Doctor)

  • "The Pipster" (Legal and Rugby Analogy Consultant)

  • "Moose" (Niggler, Agenda Creative)
