The Harper Sprint was an award brought into the comp in honour of
the legendary Harper Sprint of 97. It also keeps the straggling Tipsters
motivated near the end of the race. In the 1997 NPC
PJTC, Simon Harper (now known as "Serpico") was 24 points behind
the leader and in 14th place as the semi-finals were about to begin.
Every game had been worth 4 points up until this point. The semis
were worth 6 and the finals were worth 8. Simon launched himself at
the lead and scooped up every point available. It was pure class and
is unlikely to be repeated. Those that were overtaken are privileged
to be a part of something special.
