The Kamo Goose (Runner Up) has not been a respected position in Pink
Jacket tradition. This is either the tipster who had every opportunity
to win and couldn't, or
the tipster who took advantage of gutsy challenges of those ranked just
below the leader and snuck in for a bit of undeserved glory.
There has been one exception to this rule... that of "Don Gazzaralli's"
great sprint in the 1999 NPC, where he was denied the title by BOP's
"stupid, stupid man" in the 2nd Division Final.
The Kamo Goose is named after a
duck-shaped pottery lid (a lid that "Maddog"
successfully haggled down from $4 to $3.65 )...
The "Kamo Goose" trophy (lid) was lost while
in the hands of "Deep Blue", who won it in the 98 Super 12.
This lack of responsibility has cursed "Deep Blue" as he has now come
in as the Kamo Goose for two Super 12's in a row. This has prompted the new
rule that a Tipster who comes Runner Up three times in any Pink Jacket
Tipping Comp is to be expelled from the Comp and will suffer the
same treatment and lack of respect as the Blouse.
