Bush re-elected as U.S. president, while QT projected as next Picks champion

Almost all of the votes are in from around the nation on this Tuesday evening of November 2, 2004, and George W. Bush will be narrowly re-elected to continue serving as our 43rd U.S. president.  Let's not wait days for Ohio.  Voters have also indicated that QT Pie will win the 2004 Sunday Football Picks championship based on her sensational performance in Week 8.

"Let me be clear on the situations developing tonight at the polls," said ABC News anchor Peter Jennings from Washington D.C.  "Incumbent George W. Bush has defeated Senator John Kerry if Bush gets Ohio's 20 electoral votes as expected.  But our forecast of QT's fabulous fate in those family football picks is simply that -- a forecast.  We shouldn't jump to any conclusions because we've learned those types of predictions can come back to bite us.  Al Gore has obviously never been president."

The facts do show that QT dominated her opponents this past Sunday with a 9-4 record, pulling her to within two games of first-place Mark in the overall standings.  The smart and savvy gal is a two-time Picks title holder who is quickly closing the gap on her younger brother by gaining four games in the last four weeks.  The football season has reached the halfway point.

"It's clear to many voters from coast to coast that this latest trend will continue, with QT capturing the 2004 Picks title," said CBS News anchor Dan Rather.  "I'm not afraid to declare that right now.  I'm not a wimpy newsman.  The writing is on the wall, the proof is in the pudding.  QT will become a three-time Picks champion in January."

QT's success earlier this week came down to two selections no one else had the courage to make.  She was the only person choosing the hapless Bears over the 49ers, and the lone picker with the Steelers over the perfect Patriots, who had won 21 straight contests.  Those games registered in the loss column for Mark (7-6), Blaine (7-6), Nicki (7-6), Ali (6-7) and D.J. (5-8).

"It certainly seems like QT is due to take it all, having won the Picks in 1997 and 2001," said NBC News anchor Tom Brokaw.  "Exit polls tonight have people telling us her beauty and brains are counterbalanced by a feistiness and fearlessness that will overcome her rivals.  Sometimes you have to risk it all to win it all, and she's been doing just that.  She's awfully cute, too, if that counts for anything."

QT's ability to pick two games that nobody else predicted led to a group accomplishment never before seen in the 25-year history of the Sunday Football Picks.  Those flying solo in Week 8 were a combined 5-0.  Blaine was the only person with the victorious Giants in Minnesota, D.J. was alone with the triumphant Falcons in Denver, and Nicki was by herself in picking the winning Texans over the visiting Jaguars.

"America's picks on this long election night are Bush and QT, so she's the one I'm going with down the home stretch," said CNN Headline News babe Rudi Bakhtiar.  "From one beautiful woman to another -- kick their sorry football butts, QT!"
