Nickster and Deej catch fire while Bengals and Browns explode

Firefighters had their hands full on Sunday as they battled major blazes in Cincinnati and Lombard that smoldered into the night.  The incredible flames in both towns could be felt for miles, witnesses said, but thankfully no injuries were reported.

Let's start in Lombard, where Nicki and D.J. spontaneously combusted in Week 12 of the Sunday Football Picks.  The two sisters began smoking last week with 13-2 records, and they burst into flames on Sunday and torched their opponents.  Nickster was 10-3 and Deej was 9-4 on a day when the favored teams were only 7-6.

Everything the two girls touched seemed to ignite, and firefighters quickly responded when smoke detectors were activated.  "We first thought the call was for red-hot QT and her steamy curves, so the guys were slightly disappointed when we arrived at the scene," said Lombard Fire Chief George Seagraves.  "But we swiftly turned the extinguishers on the two burning girls, whose bodies were smoking terribly."

The intense flames were difficult to suppress, and the victory totals kept rising for the fiery females.  Nicki is a blistering 23-5 over the past two weeks, while D.J. is a sizzling 22-6.  Those scorching numbers are turning everyone else to toast.  Deej even predicted the Raiders' 25-24 victory over the Broncos, who were 11-point favorites.  When you're hot, you're hot!

Now to Cincinnati, where the Bengals and Browns were expected to put fans to sleep with their lack of talent.  But the dreary duo lit up the football field like aluminum foil in the microwave, sending sparks flying the entire game.  The offensive explosion rocked the Earth and registered 7.7 on the Richter scale.  By the time firefighters brought the inferno under control, the teams had burned each other for 13 touchdowns.  Cincinnati's 58-48 victory was the highest scoring game in the 25-year history of the Sunday Football Picks, and the second-highest scoring game in the 83-year history of the NFL.

"Entering Paul Brown Stadium was like walking into an incinerator," said Cincinnati Fire Chief Robert Wright.  "Our personnel and equipment were greatly overmatched from the start."

The blazing scoring streak by the Bengals and Browns occurred like this:  Touchdown Browns, touchdown Bengals, touchdown Bengals, field goal Browns, field goal Browns, touchdown Bengals, field goal Bengals, field goal Bengals, touchdown Browns, touchdown Bengals, touchdown Browns, touchdown Bengals, touchdown Browns, field goal Bengals, touchdown Browns, touchdown Browns, touchdown Bengals, touchdown Bengals.  The 106 points are only topped by the Redskins' 72-41 victory over the Giants in 1966.

On Monday morning, firefighters in Cincinnati and Lombard were confident they had doused every burning ember and eliminated any chance of a flare-up this weekend.  But why are Nicki and D.J. smirking?
