Open Water ~ *****
As most people who know me are aware of...it's not too easy to freak me out. I've been numb to all things scary and frightening since i've been constantly watching horror films since I was a little kid. Only a few movies have achieved scaring or creeping me out and without the use of "jump-scares". 2 of those movies being The Eye and Blair Witch. Well...welcome, Open Water..to that exclusive list. Sure, i bet my intense fear of sharks helps it make it to the list, but even without THAT, this movie Knows how to creep you out. Just like Blair Witch, it's what you DON'T see that is ultimately horrifying. The sharks never get a close-up..it's just a shark fin, or a violent splash in the corner of the frame merely 3 feet from our 2 characters we are so deeply invested in. After being left in the middle of an ocean after a botched head-count on a tourist Scuba boat, the married couple must survive the horrors of the unseen creatures of the ocean and pray that they are rescued. This movie hit all the right Scare buttons for me and is an incredible movie-watching experience. Scary movies don't get much better than this!

Beautiful and masterfully filmed scifi epic about a group of people (including serial killer Riddick) who crash on a planet that is inhabitated by vicious flying aliens who only come out in the dark..well guess what, this planet is about to have an eclipse. The Fx are great, the filming is supreme and the acting is brilliant with a very anti-hollywood ending.

Primal Rage****
Excellent thriller about a college guy who gets bit by a mutated monkey and begins attacking people in a rabid fit and turning others into rabid beasts. Very well done and the ways the "rabids" are disposed of are awesome!. Highly Recommended.
Prince of Darkness~****
A preist along with a professor and his students begin turning into demon-like creatures in an old church when they find a cannister containing a liquid that can open the gates of hell.
Prison~****
Excellent and gory flick starring Viggo Mortensen as an inmate of a newly reopened prison that is haunted by the ghost of an innocent man that was wrongly executed years earlier by the bastard warden. The ghost picks off the guards and inmates in grisly ways. Most notable for it's barb wire death scene.. Directed by Deep Blue Sea's Renny Harlin.

Aan above average direct to video sequel in which Gabriel has now turned good and must help protect a young man/angel from being killed by a bad angel who has been sent down to kill him. Christopher Walken returns as Gabriel. This movie features excellent FX and awesome fight sequences.
Prowler, The~***
Your basic slasher story: On the eve of the Graduation dance, a crazed maniac in army fatigues begins killing off the students with only the sheriff and his girlfriend to figure out who it is and stop him. The only thing that makes this movie stand out at all is the awesome death scenes done by FX GOD Tom Savini. Other than that, it's nothing new.

A surprisingly excellent sequel that offers up the entire Norman Bates backstory. When talk show host CCH Pounder is broadcasting a show on "boys who kill their mothers", good old Norman calls up and tells of how he came to kill his mother and her lover. Greatly directed by Mick Garris, this is definitely a worthwhile sequel for any Psycho fan.
