| # 2LDK ~ ***** Leave it to Japan to be the only place releasing truly original movies at the moment. While Americans are just re-making every movie made in the past 30 years, the freshest stuff is coming from across the ocean. Along with Ichi the Killer, Audition, Suicide Circle, and The Eye.....2LDK is among the cream of the crop. The film is only 70 minutes long, but it wont feel like it. The film has one setting. The title stands for a 2 Bedroom, Living room, Dining room, and Kitchen. The film is about 2 room mates who are aspiring actresses....and they are up for the same part. Aside from that little bit of tension, they are the complete opposite of each other. They start out civilized and nice (albeit fake) to each other...but as the night passes, they each become more and more irritated with each other, and with the looming job opportunity set to advance the hopes and dreams of ONE of them....the night soon turns into a nightmare. The girls begin losing their mind and about halfway through the movie, begin torturing, fighting, and just completely destroying and disfiguring each other. These girls are ruthless, as is the movie. Imagine 45 minutes straight of 2 young girls just beating the fuck out of each other with EVERY possible item they can get their hands on...including a chainsaw.
