Bill Jones’, candidate for California senator, positions
on issues:
Taxation/budget/spending: He is concerned about high
federal spending and states that a good economy sets good tax policy.
He supports the extension of the President’s tax cuts because
he believes the U.S. needs to provide stable tax incentives and provide
long-term tax rate reduction.
Crime: He continues to support the “Three-Strike” law,
which convicts a felon on his third offense with a jail sentence of
25 to life. He opposes Proposition 66 because it qualifies felons for
an automatic rehearing.
Education: He feels we need to reinvigorate vocational
education by having schools prepare students for good paying jobs after
they graduate. He understands that not every child will attend college
after high school so they need to be better trained for jobs.
Health Care: Voted no on a measure to bring California
into compliance with federal guidelines, which would have made the
state eligible for millions in federal dollars for emergency assistance
for needy families.
Employment Issues: He believes in the 6-point plan
which is needed to regulate the free creative spirit of our entrepreneurs
and small businesses.
Environment:He has come up with
a 10-point plan to help protect California’s Environment. This
plan has solutions for some issues concerning our environment such
as protecting California’s coast by banning offshore oil and
gas drilling. He supports the idea to secure a safe and reliable water
supply for California’s urban, agriculture and environmental
needs. Bill Jones believes in creating a safe and secure environment
for the citizens of California and by saying that he thinks that the
Federal superfund programs must refocus their efforts to finish site
clean ups and remove low level radioactive waste from our neighborhood.
Elderly Issues: He, like most Americans, has a deep
abiding belief in the value of all life for the elderly.
In our opinion: Bill Jones is a good candidate because
he has come up with plans to help all of California ’s issues.
We think that he should be more concerned with education and college
and needs to be more specific with his concerns on the elderly.
