De L'Annapurna

We Drive into our hotel. Very Very Nice..BUT not like Fishtail . Nice In a different way as Taj Hotels have their own class. You can know if you have been to a Taj Resort before, only this one looked like it had seen better days and was in need of attention, but other than that, excellent, rooms, grounds and staff. later we got to know that Taj had now Pulled out of admin for this hotel, as the Maoists had demanded a tax of 50 lakhs some time ago, business was bad anyways and they pulled out so now it is called just Annapurna Hotel, but you still see all the equipment with Taj logos, Biotique toileteries, and Taj embossed towels and writing pads..lost glory!!..maybe.. but still nice.

Do not take the taxi services from hotels in Kathmandu, the taxis outside are ridiculously cheap! Please take them, and help the locals get some revenue

The must-try's here are the excellent and very recommended Indian restaurant, one of the most comfortable tubs i have seen to have bath in, and an excellent bar..

I must mention that one of the staff here recommended a restaurant right around the corner which is very walkable. It is called Sunshine Cafe. the food is cheap and incredibly good Momos!! for 25 NR and in the hotel you pay 240 NR! well..it is a no brainer is it not? Go eat outside in kathmandu, loads of places and choices.
