Welcome to the Palmyra Ice Hockey Association! We are a community-based
club, not directly affiliated with the school district. We play in the
Central Pennsylvania Interscholastic Hockey League, (CPIHL) a league for
students in grades six through twelve.
The Palmyra Cougars have competed in the CPIHL since 1995, winning the
Viola Cup in just their second season. Since then our program has grown,
adding teams at the Junior High (1997) and Junior Varsity (2001) levels.
We now have over 50 players in our club, and field a Varsity team that
competes at the highest level (Tier I) of local scholastic hockey.
As an organization, we focus on player development at the JV and Junior
High levels; we're committed to allowing every player with an interest
in the game to participate, regardless of skill level, with the goal of helping each player eventually earn a spot on the Varsity roster.
Even though our school district is very small when compared to other Tier
I teams, Palmyra is a consistent Varsity playoff contender due to the success
of our entire program. We attribute this success to two factors: the talent
of our players and the dedication of our coaching staff.
Combining the goals of competitive excellence with player development is
not always easy, and we are very proud of the opportunity we provide for
the youth of our community.
