FINALLY SWELL AT RAGLAN
The point breaks at Raglan copped its first decent swell in over a month this week with solid 4-5ft waves on the points on Monday.
I scored uncrowded Indies at 4-5ft, quite clean and solid on Monday avro with only six other guys out. It wasn't classic Raglan but it still was pretty damn good. Other boogers on it over the last few days have been Hemi holden and Paul Meyer both ripping the bag at Manu Bay.
Over the last few weeks Ruapuke has been the go with small and fun offshore days and really wedgy banks.
DALE "THE ROCK" SATTLER
Dale Sattler has been an agro magnet as of late. On Saturday during a crap surf at Manu Bay he narrowly avoided the smack down from one of Raglans local resident psycho surfers known  as Carcass ( a pretty dodgy nickname). Legend has it that Carcass was having a kook of a surf and was getting emmensely pissed off, so looking for somewhere to release his built up anger spotted Dale nearby in the line-up. Out of nowhere he starts screaming at Dale and telling him to "f@%k off and stop paddling around everywhere". Typically Dale, trying to avoid any form of trouble just laughed loudly at him and replied "whatever, kook". To Dales suprise this did not calm the surfer down and just angered him more, more abuse followed and Dale in true form just egged the surfer on more. It looked to everyone  that it would soon be all over for Dale as fisticuffs were inevitable. As the surfer wound back his arm to give Dale a bit of hows your father, Dale like a true man stated in calm and controled voice "if you hit me I'll report you straight to the police and sue your ass",the surfer suddenly stopped, looking very confused  swore some more splashed water in his face and paddled off.

TRIPPERS
John Diamond has returned from a three week stint in Indo where he scored sick waves with fellow Kiwi John Blackwood. During his stay it never got smaller than 3ft and was offshore everyday. The highlights of his trip was scoring perfect 10ft uncrowded scar reef and his new vampire eyes look.
While South Islander Hayden Parsons is on a mission to Fiji during intense political instability (crazy f%@k) to score some epic waves and to avoid being killed and scored some large quality swells.
Desperations was fun everyday at 2-6ft. Wilkes Pass was also epic with one day peaking at 8ft+ and perfect offshore waves. (Photos soon)
He was about to surf Cloudbreak at 4ft and pumping but were stopped by some dickhead Tavarua bouncers who said only their customers could only go out. (this was after telling us it was OK to go out).
Back in Dunnos the east swell has stuck around for ages with Blackhead and all of the North beaches being super fun.

HUGE EAST COAST SWELLS
For the past 26 days the East coast has been rocked by solid swells barely getting below 4-5ft and  getting up to a solid 8ft plus on certain days. While the majority of breaks have not able to handle such size shelterd spots small wave spots have been going off. However conditions would have bee much better with an offshore. Bodyboarders like Dave "Goose" Campbell, Hemi Holden, Cameron Hirst, John Diamond and Joey Carrol have been  scoring some solid waves all over the place. Over the last three weeks I've had some good waves at Whangamata bar, Langs Beach, Pataua and Ocean Beach on the smaller days.
While on the West coast it has been offshore for 26 days and with a decent size swell almost everyday. Dale Sattler reports some fun days been had at Ruapuke and Simon Thompson has been getting some good waves at Port Waikato with Tim Dwen.
