The Shadows:

Just as in mortal society, where there are those who rebel against being easily categorized and referenced, in the world of the Kindred and the Forty, there are those who defy being defined by Clan or association.  These are the Shadows of our world, the ones who are possibly the most feared members of the nightstalkers.

The Shadows are made up of vampyres and other creatures who profit the most when acting without ties to any one organization. Many have been banished from their Clans, still others operate without any thought of Clan allegiance.  They are both feared and respected, loved and hated - indispensible and unique.
