III. LEAGUE PLAY

1. The Schedule

  a. Ten (10) Teams

The league will consist of ten (10) teams, with two divisions of five (5) teams.  The regular season lasts through Week 14 of the NFL Season.  Weeks 15 and 16 are playoff rounds, with Week 16 being the league Super Bowl.

The schedule will be set up and prepared by CBS and may be accessed through the Official Website once the system is operational.

  b. Standings

The first place team in each division will make the playoffs.  There are two (2) wild card teams.  The next two (2) playoff spots will go to the teams who are not in first place which have the best records, regardless of division (see rules regarding tie breaking - record then record against then points for).  Standings will be based on win/loss record, and points for and against. The points for and against are those points scored by the performance of the franchises players, and those scored by the opposing franchise.

  c. Playoffs

Following the final week of head to head regular schedule play, the playoff teams will be ranked according to record, with the first place teams taking the one (1), two (2), and three (3) spots.  The fourth playoff team will be the wild card.  The wild card team will be selected based upon overall record and then record against the team they are tied with (in case of a tie) and then points for.  The first, second, and third ranking for playoff teams will be decided by which first place team has the best record (see rules regarding tie breaking - record then record against then points for).  The wild card team will automatically be ranked fourth.

The number one seed and number four seed will play eachother in the first round of the playoffs and the number two and number three seed will play eachother in the first round of the playoffs taking place in Week 15.    The winners facing off in the Super Bowl during Week 16.

d. Legal/Illegal Lineups

Remember that you must have the following, and ONLY the following, position starters - because of the reasons set forth below, there's an ability to fudge a roster because of the way the CBS computer program works.  Anyone doing that will be considered to have an illegal lineup, and per the rules - gets 0 points for the week.  Just make sure to have the following:

QB
RB
RB
FLEX
WR/TE
WR/TE
WR/TE
WR/TE
DST

K

NOTE: The lineup for the Keansburg Bullies this week was illegal.  2 QB's and 3 RB's
were started this week.  See the previous emails and the message board on the
site for the announcements regarding this.  Each team was on notice.  Because of the score in that game - the illegal lineup did not matter and  therefore the score stands.  However, to the extent that points for become an  issue later in the season (rare, but it happens), I will go back and  retroactively give the Bullies 0 points for Week 3.
