Goku also found some more devestating news, in the future, he would die of heart disease. The most powerful fighter in the world would meet his demise at the feet of something he could not fight. He had been trained to fight off people around him, use his physical and mental strength to protect the earth, but this was on the inside.
Luckily, Mirai Trunks had come prepared. He had a small medicine capsule, that was invented in the future after Goku died. Goku ate it, and was no longer plagued by his fate, and the Z Fighters were able to defeat Cell.
But where did Trunks come from?
In his future timeline, where Cell and the androids were not stopped and reaked havoc among the citizens of earth:
Trunks was trained by Gohan and the androids soon got to them. Gohan was killed, and that was the first time Mirai Trunks reached SSJ.
As mentioned above, Goku died of heart disease, and each of the Z Fighters lost to the androids one bye one until only Trunks was left along with Bulma.
After Cell was defeated, Trunks returned to his own time, with his power increased a lot! He gave the androids a piece of his mind. They were gone.
Cell had not reached his perfect state yet (luckily) so Trunks was also able to beat him. Now, he has not only helped in the saving of Goku's time, but he is the saviour of his. ,
