| Reflection As I have progressed through the educational technology courses, I have created applications of technology that have served to increase my classroom productivity. The Geometric Figures artifact is an example of using Word for an activity that demonstrates being an effective technology educator. To apply the concepts, students can manipulate the shapes using the tools within the program.. As a facilitator, I would encourage fellow instructors to use this application with other mathematical concepts, such as graphs of parabolas. A graphing calculator is also a device that would have a specific purpose when exploring families of parabolas. A History of Geometry PowerPoint presentation artifact is a second productivity application. The presentation is a model for students to follow and it displays my skills as a technology educator. Use of this artifact in the role of facilitator would show colleagues a method for presenting mathematics history in a more appealing manner. To continue development of proficiency with Standard V, I will complete the remaining courses for educational technology. Online learning will be one of the means to support both personal and professional development with technology use. The knowledge I am acquiring and the research I am conducting provides support for student learning and informed decision-making. Learning Web page design is another method for communication to reach all individuals involved with the learning process which engages my students. |
