"Dean Malenkos wife, Julie, gave birth to their second child, a boy they named Preston Dean, on April 6. The baby boy was eight pounds, two ounces at birth. Prestons big sister, Larissa, is 5.
Julie was thisclose to having Preston during WrestleMania. But Dean could simply not miss the Granddaddy of em all. He caught a redeye home, and the baby was born exactly one week later. Malenko took two weeks off, returning to work slightly less rested -- last week on RAW."
Congrats to the entire Malenko family.
Not even the birth of his second child could keep Dean Malenko away from WrestleMania.
Malenko, normally an agent on SmackDown!, was not at SmackDown! taping last Tuesday in San Jose, Calif., because his wife, Julie, is on the verge of delivering a son, whom they intend to name Preston Dean. They already have one child, a 5-year-old daughter, Larissa.
(Julie) is due April 4, but she could blow any day now, Malenko said with his customary dry humor. Shes like a volcano.
Malenko is catching a redeye flight back to his home in Tampa, Fla., late tonight after Mania, and hell probably take the next week or two off. Some people were not expecting Malenko to be here today. In fact, Vince McMahon himself asked Malenko what he was doing here when the two men spotted each other today. Malenko replied, My wife could have a baby anytime, but WrestleMania only comes once a year.
He told WWE.com, Its the biggest show of the year. I dont want to miss it.
Asked if his wife was upset that Malenko chose to come to the show, he said, She understands the way the business is. Shes also got 10 phone numbers to contact people in the arena if something were to happen.
Best wishes go out to the Malenko family.
