In the September 2002 WWE Raw Magazine with Trish Stratus on the cover, Dean Malenko talks about the state of Florida as it relates to being a "hotbed of WWE talent." The following is his quote:
"Through the years - late '60s, '70s and early '80s - it was a place where a lot of guys liked to work, and usually you could be home every night with your family. It was a great place to raise kids. It kind of made its mark, especially Tampa. Everybody and anybody in this business - from Dusty Rhodes to Ric Flair to Hollywood Hulk Hogan - at one time in his career went to Florida. It was a place everyone liked. Even now, maybe 15-20 of our guys reside in Tampa."
