The following is a report of a Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW) match pitting OVW wrestler, Nick Dinsmore vs. Dean Malenko. The match was taped on the 25th and aired yesterday in the Louisville, Kentucky area: "This was overall the best match of the night, showcasing a ton of technical wrestling. Even the announcers were saying that, if you want to learn technical wrestling, take notes on this match, and that's exactly how it was. The match started off pretty high paced and on the mat. Throughout most of the match Malenko worked on the left knee of Dinsmore immensely. Just as Dinsmore was regaining momentum he pulled of his finish the German Suplex. At the ref's two count The Revolution enters the ring and breaks it up, causing the ref to call for the bell. Malenko just leaves, while Dinsmore gets pummelled. After a while Rob Conway, Damaja and Mark Henry come for the save and clear the ring."(Credit: LordsofPain.net)

Ohio Valley Wrestling put on an event at Louisville,Kentucky's Six Flags-Kentucky Kingdom theme park last night. At the show, David Flair scored the upset victory over Dean Malenko. A fan in attendance had this to say about the match: "David came out as the heel & was booed loudly just for being a part of WCW. This was a very loyal WWF/OVW crowd. These guys put on a good match with some great false finishes. Flair even reversed Malenko's cloverleaf submission into a pin." After the show, Malenko as well as the other WWF representatives (Molly Holly and Jerry Lynn) signed autographs for the fans. (Credit: LordsofPain.net)

July 27, 2001

The following tidbit concerning the status of Dean Malenko is from today's edition of the Ross Report on WWF.com: "Dean Malenko, Jerry Lynn and Molly Holly are at Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW) in Louisville, Ky., this week working with developmental talents. This will be a standard thing where unbooked talents will spend some valuable and much-needed time in our two developmental areas. All three of the aforementioned individuals are excellent teachers, in my view."

Added three pictures to the WWF Action photo section and one picture to the Out of Ring section. All of the new pictures are at the bottom of their respective list. Also changed the picture on the "Main" page.

July 26, 2001

This has nothing to do with Dean Malenko, but is important nonetheless. In case you missed it, Paul Bearer, the former manager of The Undertaker and Kane and others, has a new and possibly life saving commentary with the title "Even if you never read my column, please read this one!" up at WWF.com. To read the commentary, click here. My thoughts and prayers are with the entire Moody (a.k.a. Bearer) family during this difficult time.

July 14, 2001

The following tidbit comes straight from Robbie, the webmaster of CrashHolly.net, and sort of concerns Dean Malenko: "Many people know that Crash appears on cards in the Raw Deal Set, but he is also on the only error in the set at all, if you have one of the drop toe hold cards with him getting dropped by Dean Malenko and it does not say anything in the black box under the title then you have the Error!!" Be sure to check out CrashHolly.net and StevieRichards.com if you get the chance. The audio commentaries are always classics.

This will be the last update to this site until Saturday, July 21st. Until then, please check out The "Official" Unofficial Dean Malenko Page for the latest news on "The Man of 1,000 Holds." Please note that e-mail will not be responded to until the next site update occurs.

Finally, happy birthday wishes go out to Jeff Jarrett, who is celebrating his big day today. Hopefully Mr. Jarrett will be back on television soon as he definitely would be an asset to any company.

July 13, 2001

The following tidbit is from today's edition of the Ross Report on WWF.com: "Dean Malenko is on his way to becoming a road agent/instructor and will be there in the next few months. Dean is a superb teacher."

The interview from the August 2001 edition of Raw Magazine is now in the Interviews section. Whether you are a Dean Malenko fan or not, the interview is a great read. In the same magazine, there is an article on Jerry Lynn that briefly touches on how Dean Malenko broke Lynn's arm in WCW. Back to site updates, there is a new picture in the WWF Action section. It is the last one on the list. Slight changes to the Disclaimer and Site Map were also made. If you have a minute, please sign the Guestbook.

Please consult the update from July 6th for information on the Pillman Show and the Mark Curtis Fantasy Wrestling Camp on August 9th and August 8th, respectively.

July 12, 2001

Be sure to pick up a copy of the August 2001 edition of WWF Raw Magazine with William Regal on the cover. Inside is a 6 page interview with Dean Malenko where he talks about his past, present, and future involvement in the professional wrestling indsutry. July 10, 2001

Updated the Links page again. Also added two new articles to the Articles section. They are the two bottom articles. With those, there was an update to the Other Merchandise section.

July 7, 2001

First, my condolences go out to former WCW star and current HWA wrestler SharkBoy on the loss of his father this week. My thoughts and prayers are with SharkBoy and his entire family.

Now on a happier note, Mike Franey of The Diva Newsletter recently had the chance to speak to former WCW star and current student of Killer Kowalski, April Hunter. In the interview, the question "If you could wrestle anyone in the business who would it be and why?" was posed to April and her response was, "Dean Mallenko. I think he's an excellent wrestler." You can visit the official site of April Hunter at AprilHunter.com, but please only if you are 18 years of age or older!

Finally, the picture on the Main page has been changed.

July 6, 2001

For the first time in about a month, Dean Malenko wrestled on Smackdown last night. A match report is now up here.

Do not forget, Pillman 2001 will take place in just over a month (August 9, 2001). With the unforunate injury to Chris Benoit, the Benoit/Regal match will not be taking place at Pillman 2001. A new main event should be in place by mid to late next week. The matches already set for Pillman 2001 include Terry Taylor vs. Bobby Eaton (with Jim Cornette), Hardy Boyz (with Lita) vs. X-Factor, and Booker T vs. Kanyon. Also, Steve Corino, Jerry Lynn, Perry Saturn, William Regal, and Raven are all on the card.

The Indy matches, which start before the matches above, that are set include: Island Boys (Memphis) vs.Cody Hawk (HWA) and Logan Caide, Flash (OVW) vs. Randy Orton (OVW), Donovan Mogran (APW) vs. Chad Collyer (HWA/Michinoku Pro), A Squad with Brock Guffman (HWA) vs. Minnesota Stretching Crew (OVW), Haas Bros (Memphis). vs. Rico Constantino (OVW) and Steve Bradley (Memphis) with Kenny Brolin. Machine (OVW), Nigel McGuiness (HWA), J.R Ryder (ECWA), Principal Richard Towne (Stampede Wrestling), Disciples of Synn (OVW), Rob Conway (OVW), and Ron "H20" Waterman (OVW) will also all be appearing.

Tickets are going fast, but you can still get yours at Ticketmaster.com.

The Mark Curtis Fantasy Camp will be the day before, August the 8th, at Les Thatcher's Main Event Wrestling Camp in Cincinnati, Ohio. Fantasy Trainers who are scheduled to be there include: Chris Jericho, Ricky Steamboat, Les Thatcher, Terry Taylor, Tom Pritchard, and Jerry Lynn. More names will be added to the list at a later time.

The Camp will start at 11 A.M (est) and will go until 6 P.M with a break for lunch. There will be a banquet starting at 6 in the evening as well. By being a camper, you will get a group photo, t-shirt, a taped promo or interview with your choice of trainers, and a reserved ticket to the Pillman show. All this is a steal for just 550 bucks. They will be cutting off the registration when they reach about 25 campers. So, there are only about 10 slots still available at this time, so if you would like to register, do so now. To register, just call (513) 771-1650.

For more information about these events, visit HWAOnline.com, PillmanShow.com, and/or CurtisCamp.net. To read about Pillman 2000 and the 1st Annual Mark Curtis Fantasy Camp, check out Two Days in May.

Don't forget to check out Dean Malenko on Smackdown. Check your local listings for time and channel.

July 4, 2001

The following very interesting tidbit is courtesy of the Informer column in the August 2001 edition of WWF Magazine with Edge and Christian on the cover: "What might Dean Malenko and X-Pac have been discussing over dinner last week at WWF New York? My source at the entertainment complex reports that there was a lot of laughing going on. But, will they still be laughing when Willian Regal informs them of his plans for the fall?" Be sure to pick up a copy of the August edition of WWF Magazine at your local newsstand.

Just what does the World Wrestling Federation have in store for Dean-o Machino? We'll have to wait and find out. But in the meantime, look for Dean Malenko on Smackdown this Thursday as he will face off with Scotty 2 Hotty.

Finally, the following is an excerpt from an interview Molly Holly did with Dan Lovranski of The LAW (Live Audio Wrestling) dealing with Dean Malenko:

Dan Lovranski: Right. It was Dean Malenko that trained you?
Molly Holly: I had a lot of people that I trained with but the greatest influence would be from Dean. I trained at Dean's school for about two months every day for about 4-5 hours a day. I had private lessons from about 3-5pm and then I went with his group from 5-7pm and he was a great influence.

Dan Lovranski: What was it most about Dean that struck you? We see him on TV and he's pretty stoic and we've had him on the show and he's got a great sense of humour. What are your memories of Dean Malenko? What most influenced you?
Molly Holly: He's definitely a comedian. I really admired his dedication to learning so many moves in wrestling. He can do any style -- he can do Japanese style, American style, Mexican style, European style... It was really great to learn more than one technique of certain moves that I had already known.

Dan Lovranski: How did the Power Plant differ from Dean Malenko's school?
Molly Holly: Dean Malenko's school focused on wrestling while the Power Plant focused on push-ups, running, sit-ups, squats, and people yelling at you. [Laughing]

The original interview was broadcast on July 1st, 2001 and is now archived at LiveAudioWrestling.com in both a full written transcript and audio version.

July 3, 2001

On the International version of Sunday Night Heat,Dean Malenko defeated Sho Funaki. A viewer said it was a "pretty good 'wrestling' match with Funaki tapping out to Malenko's Texas Cloverleaf." He went on to say, "An average edition of International Heat with Funaki/Malenko easily outshining the other three matches." (Credit: RajahWWF.com)

Once again, the Other Merchandise section has been updated. This time, a couple of WCW sticker and coloring books with Dean Malenko in them were added. The news items are listed in the same color as the font you are reading now.

For those of you in the States, have a happy and safe 4th of July holiday tomorrow. Please, think before you drink! For those outside of the US, have a happy and safe day, too!

July 2, 2001

Added a Dean Malenko Trading Card available for purchase at Card-Zone.com to the Other Merchandise section.
