No visible squatters, beggars or even street vendors here. Just a long stretch of very well-maintained concrete walls on either side of EDSA. There are many trees inside the Camps' grounds, but they've always been well-trimmed. None of the brances ever extend beyond the walls to get entangled in the wires or to hang dangerously over EDSA. May korte talaga ang mga puno. There are no billboards or posters on these walls except those promoting the PNP and AFP. It's very nice to look at... then again, who knows what kind of extra-judicial "proceedings" are happening behind this secure, impenetrable facade? Especially now that the smell of martial law is again in the air... up to today two UP students are still missing. It fills me with dread.
