Here we find the GMA 7 TV station headquarters plastered with huge, glossy, pretty billboards featuring their latest shows, beside a very dirty river. Most visible from the station is the billboard for the fantaserye "Atlantika." It's well-known that Filipinos escape to the daydreamland of TV to find a temporary release from their hard lives. I usually get irritated with the stupid plots of the stories shown on local TV, and with the stupid people who watch them, but whenever I see the crazy diseased environment they live in, I feel sorry for them. This idiotic sugar-coated, generic, tacky showbiz chika and these pitiful CGI effects are the most easily understood and most comforting entertainment there is. Irony of ironies, there are government buildings all around this staion, alternating with even more squatters. Surprise surprise.
