Shilfiel is a young amiable woman with a heart of gold. Being a master of white magic, and a master
at the life spell, resurrection, she's known for her powerful healing. Shilfiel is/was a shrine
maiden in the town of Sairagg. Her cooking is also known to be the best. When Sairagg get's blown
to bits by copy Rezo, she leaves her home town and comes back later to discover that hellmaster
Phibrizzo has resurected the city. Shilfiel does all she can to bring justice to the people of
Sairagg. The only known relatives of Shilfiel is / was her father. He died in the explosion made by copy Rezo in the first season of Slayers. We come to know Shilfiel, at first, as a young, disciplined girl who will do anything her father asks of her. She never wants to hurt anybody, and those she does hurt she heals right away. Being the only character that we see her past life, we realize that she loved her father more than anything. He carved her height into a tree each year, and taught her everything she needed to know in the real world. We know nothing about her mother, however. Shilfiel's love life is actually quite simple. She has her heart set on one person and one person alone: Gourry Gabriev. When Shilfiel is first introduced, she runs up to Gourry giving him a big hug which offends and surprises both Amelia and Lina. We learn that sometime earlier Gourry was injured by wandering in the old Sairagg, but we never know how. Shilfiel healed him up and cooked for him. That's the only reason Gourry remembers her is because of the great food. Typical Gourry. In Slayers next, Shilfiel learns to cast the Dragon Slave to give Lina some competition. Shilfiel still believes that the only reason they travel is together is so that Lina can get Gourry's sword of light. There's a deeper reason, however. |
