Martina, aka the comedy relief in Slayers Next, is a young persistent ditzy girl who will do anything
and everything to bring revenge upon Lina for blowing up her kingdom and her life. Let's just
say that Martina asked for it when she threatened Lina with a giant Golem that could repel normal
spells. So what did Lina use instead? Of course, the Dragon Slave which destroyed the entire
kingdom and sent Martina into a frenzy. Since that day forward she swore to bring Lina's life
to hell however she could. Martina, in fact, does give Lina some trouble but not enought compared to what Lina has to go through in Slayers Next. A curse is put upon Lina that whenever she hurts somebody, it will come back twice fold. Of course Martina drops the knife she used to curse Lina on her own foot and therefore gets cursed herself. She also tries to strike Lina with bolts of lightning but it ends up striking her instead. Needing something to worship, Martina makes up her own demon called Zoelmelgustar. She even makes relics of this demon to sell to people to get money so she can torment Lina. She even makes a large one and places it over her father's thrown, not to his request however. Whenever times get tough she prays to Zoelmelgustar to help save her and protect her. In fact when the group is being chased by Gaav, her relic protects them but it turns out to be the Water Dragon King instead. Martina's love life is very very very complicated. She sees any guy and she goes wacko. At first she falls in love with Zelgadiss. But after he betrays his contract with her, she doesn't like him anymore. Next she falls in love with Gourry. But because of his stupidity and the fact that he doesn't know what a fiance is, she decided she can't marry a stupid guy. Next is Xellos, of who she falls in love with when he rescues her from a bandit gang. Of course, when she finds out he's a mazoku, she decides that she's been betrayed. And last but not least, Zangulus. His handsomeness, stregnth, and charisma enchant her and she gets tangled up in his spell. They end up marrying at the end of Slayers Next. |
