Amelia is the young justice-loving princess who will risk her life to banish all evil from the
face of the planet. She loves to get to highest point possible and give a justice speech, but
it all usually fails either by her falling before she's finished or falling on the way down.
Somehow, however, she always manages to win no matter who the opponent is. Luck I guess... Amelia's family has a reputation for being jealous at one another. Being the leading royal family for the kingdom of Seillune, there have been many fights for power. This is ironic, however, since Seillune is the kingdom of White Magic (Clarix), which is supposed to be loving and happy. There have been numerous accounts of family members killing each other for the throne. We see Randy, Phil's brother, who attempts to kill both Phil (Amelia's father) and Amelia, but it fails miserably. There have been tales of a sister of Amelia being outcasted and killed because of her attempt at the throne (aka Nahga...). Alfred, the son of Phil's brother Christopher, hires two Mazoku to kill Prince Phil to get his father first for the throne. This fails when the Mazoku turn against him and kill him instead. Because of Amelia's family past, she has sworn herself to justice and will do anything to hold up the code of light and reason. At first, she comes off as an annoying brat who's depressed cause she's lost her father. But later we learn that she's a compassionate young woman who will protect and help those in need. She's really sweet in that she will never let anybody down and will always be there when asked. Amelia's love life is shadowed and overthrown by her compassion for the path of justice. There are many hints about her having a thing or two for Zelgadis. This, of course, is a very slight hint. In fact at the end of Slayers try, Zelgadis is seen having one of Amelia's charms around his canteen. These two always happen to be paired throughout the series, especially since they both know the most powerful spell in Shamanism: the Rah Tilt. They often combine their powers to make a more powerful blast. |
