| A Christian is : a follower of Christ, according to the websters dictionary. This is an accurate description, but hardly scratches the surface of what a christian is. A Christian is someone who believes that God sent His son Jesus Christ to die for our sins and that Jesus rose again and is to return. A Christian believes that in order to have a personal relationship with God, you must be "born again". This means accepting Christ into your life as personal Lord and saviour, and giving God control of your life. "Why should I become a Christian?" Ever feel like you are running in circles? Does life seem repetitive, monotonous, or there seems to be something missing, or you feel like 'isn't there something more?" There is. There is a line in a U2 song that mentions a "God-shaped hole" and how nothing you try to stick in there, fits. People try to fill that hole with many things, but still have no peace, or satisfaction. Good deeds, money, possessions, fame, food and drink, sex and love,friends, travel, religion - all are things that people use to fill that gap, but only God can fill that void. He will help you overcome your faults, ease your loneliness, give you peace here and now, and eternal life with Him in Heaven. He is the one creator of the universe and all it contains, including you. You won't be complete inside until you have a personal relationship with the God who created you. John 3:16 says, "for God so loved the world that he gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." |
