| You cross the bridge into God's family when you turn to God by asking Jesus Christ to be part of your life. There's no such thing as a one way relationship. God has done His part when His son died for you, now it's your turn. John 14:6 says"Jesus said unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." Turning TO God means you are also turning FROM something. As you turn to Him, you repent, which means you realize you cannot give yourself to Jesus while hanging onto the sin He died for. That means turning your back on "your way" and beginning to do things "God's way" . To chose this relationship, you must: 1. admit your spiritual need (admit you are a sinner) 2. repent and be willing to turn from your sin 3. believe that Jesus died for you on the cross 4. receive Jesus Christ into your heart and life, by chosing this relationship over your current life of sin and separation. How? Ask Him. Pray. Revelation 3:20 says, "behold I stand at the door and knock: if any man hear my voice and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me." Romans 10:13 says, "for whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." |
