His team's words were 'bucculent', 'galopin' and 'natiform'. Paul failed to guess correctly when it was his turn but the team still won 4-2.

There was a chance to look back at moments from the last 12 months in soaps as a star-studded line-up presented 18 awards - voted for by the viewing public - to some of the nation's best loved performers and most talented production teams. Paul joked that his tails were second hand so they whiffed a bit.

After a bout of bronchitis, which caused him to miss last week's recording, Paul returned to co-host this Coronation Street Special. Looking cool in a pair of tinted glasses (he'd fallen asleep wearing his contact lenses), he was in his element interviewing the Corrie stars and never managed to drink his pint of cider. He was invited by the guests to appear at a Royal Variety Club benefit on 18 April in Manchester, which he quickly accepted. Guests: Sue Nicholls, Sally Lindsay, Mark Eden, & Sue Jenkins.

Paul was feeling a bit stiff as he'd spent 5 hours recording the Generation Game a couple of days before and whilst hopping around on a balloon, it had collapsed and a contestant had fallen on his face. He had decided not to wear his surgical collar as it made him feel ill! Having forgotten his manager Brendan Murphy's 48th birthday the day before, he now took the opportunity to wish him all the best. Guests: Patrick Stewart, Catherine Tate & Ken Morley.
