Eyes Down

A new comedy by Angela Clarke dealing with the lives, loves, hopes and disappointments of the staff and punters at a Liverpool bingo palace. Paul plays Ray who calls the bingo and presides over a motley crew: There's Christine on catering, whose unfortunate love-life is sublimated in her chihuahua. She is blind to the devotion she arouses in floorman Martin, a mother's boy, whose life is a world away from that of mechanic and ladies' man Bobby. Sandy is young, pregnant, and not too bright, while Mary the cleaner is an endless source of bizarre anecdotes and skewed wisdom. Completing the line-up are Kitty, Kay and Kathline, whose weekly rituals bring them luck at the bingo!
Also starring Rosie Cavaliero, Edna Dora, Neil Fitzmaurice, Tony Maudsley and Sheridan Smith.
Recorded every Friday from 2 May-20 June 2003.
