I couldn't find a good link for Elderton.

Imagine my surprise!

So, here's a brief description of our town.

Elderton, Pennsylvania

ELDERTON

 FORMERLY NEW MIDDLETON

NAMED FOR SARA ELDER

FOUNDED 1822

The previous lines are written on the sign as you enter town. I don't know of any earth shattering events that happened in Elderton history. I've heard stories of major buildings burning but I am shamefully uninformed on the history of our town.

Population:  1996 Census - Elderton Borough -  367

But the actual borough only consists of a few blocks. There are lots of us that live on the same road that runs through town, house to house and get our mail from another town, Shelocta, 6 miles away, bigger Post Office. I'm only 1/4 mile away from Main Street in Elderton so I consider myself living there. Rural America...sometimes it can be confusing.
Points of Interests: Well, we have  2 Banks, Grocery Store, Drug Store, Elementary & High School, Medical Center, Dentist, Gas & Service Stations, Surveyors & Timber sales, Gas & Well drilling outfits, Auto Parts, Outdoor Fishing & Hunting Store, 2 Restaurants, Volunteer Fire Hall & Station, Cemetery, Nursing Home, Ambulance Station, Florist & Gift Shop, Video Store, Convenience Store, Churches, Laundromat, Eyeglass & Contact Lens Place, Sewing & Quilting Store, Hair Salons,  American Legion, Water & Sewage plant, Funeral Home and an excellent Park with tennis & racquetball courts, volleyball court, little league field & bleachers, baseball field, recreation stand, nature trails, a picnic area with pavilions and grills, and a playground. Our hardware store just closed down last year and we all miss it.

We have the power plant dam (Keystone Dam) and 2 great trout streams for fishing, and 2 campgrounds within a 10 miles radius of our town.

I knew this was a great place to live but now that I've compiled this list, I think I'd move here all over again!

The hot pink blob is Elderton
