INTERVIEW SKILLS

It is not the person who is most qualified that gets the job.
The person who gets the job is the one who interviews best. -- Edward Sullivan

How many times have you applied for a job and received an interview?  Did those people seem scary and imposing?  Were they monsters in disguise?

Let's take all the fright out of interviewing!

AN INTERVIEW? - Definitions of "Interview"

RESEARCHING THE COMPANY- So what do you know about the employer you have applied with?

WHAT IS THE EMPLOYER LOOKING FOR?- Employers are looking for specific people who will suit their needs?  Do you know what the employer is looking for?  What is the interviewer's hidden agenda?

DO YOU KNOW YOUR OWN RESUME?- Many people have companies or other people develop and design their resumes.  Do you know what your resume says?

INTERVIEW QUESTIONS - Employers have a list of interview questions.  Do you know the questions?  Have you prepared answers?  What questions are illegal?

PRACTICING FOR THE INTERVIEW- Practice is an important part of preparing for an interview. Have you practiced?

THE DAY BEFORE - What you need to do to prepare for the upcoming interview.

THE DAY OF THE INTERVIEW- Quick hints for before the interview

THE INTERVIEW - Hints on behaviour, do's and don'ts, and questions to ask
