So you applied for a job and received an interview.
What do you really know about the company?




A general interview question that most employers use is what information you know about their organization. You have taken some of the steps to be successful, let's continue on our journey.
 
 

An interviewer is impressed if it is obvious that a prospective employee has done some research on the organization. The interviewer will look more favourably towards you.

You are able to collect information from a number of sources: the company brochure, the library, word-of-mouth and the Internet.
 

 

What is some of the information that you should know about the company?
 
  • How long they have been in business 
  • Mission and mandate of the company (if applicable) 
  • Geographical locations of offices 
  • Divisions / departments that interest you 
  • Size of the company 
  • Products / Services 
  • Types of clients 
  • Organizational structure 
  • Name of the interviewer(s)
  • Any special awards or recognition they have received
