May 2004

Here's the one photo I took of Josh's birthday party way back in May. Note the cool chalkboard table from Grandma Kathie.  That's his pal Nate with him.

Josh in the garden in Illinois. We miss the garden. Hope it's thriving and that someone is enjoying the tomatoes.
August 2004

This was taken a few days before we moved. Josh and his pal Nate are enjoying a popsicle on the back stoop. Nate's mom and I were glad we took them outside for the experience.

Here's our new home. Doesn't Jim look handsome in his suit?
November 2005

Thanksgiving at Grandma Laughlin's. Good thing it snowed, because it's been rain and ice in Virginia ever since.
Here's Josh on his first day of school. He looks pretty excited, doesn't he? I think that was the last day he actually wore the backpack--or even carried it in by himself for that matter.
December 2005

Jim brought home a gingerbread kit, so Josh and I made it one day. Later, at school, he heard the story of the Gingerbread Man, and he ran around the house for several days, yelling, "Run, Run, as fast as you can, you can't catch me, I'm the Gingerbread Man." He even drew gingerbread men on the gift cards for his teachers. I guess it's the gingerbread Christmas this year.
Josh wanted to be a princess for Halloween, but we settled on a prince. The best part of this outfit? Those puffy sleeves are a green velvet shirt of Jim's. It totally worked, and nobody had to sew it.
Thanksgiving was a big deal at preschool. One day, everyone came out in pilgrim hats, but the day before Thanksgiving break, they were indians. Note the requisite painted pasta beads around his neck.
A couple of days ago, Josh put all the stamps and return addresses on the Christmas cards. He was very businesslike about it. You should be getting yours soon. Remember, Christmas isn't over until January 6.
Here's Josh in his cool new chair. We got it from Ikea after the potty was out of his bedroom for a week. He loves to hide in it before bed.
Of the few pictures I got with the digital camera, this is the only one from Christmas morning that came out. Josh had three sets of Wedgits already, and still asked Santa for more for Christmas. He even drew a picture of them to help Santa out.
