| October 11, 2002: Yep, this is Joshua with his new haircut. Dad wanted him to be a "hippie baby," but when the priest who baptized him started making disparaging comments, I decided something had to be done. |
| October 16 Here's Joshua mugging for the camera at our friend Jean's house. According to her, it doesn't do Josh justice. Personally, I think he looks much less like a baby penguin than in previous photos. |

| October 18 I took this with our new digital camera (! A gift from the vestry at church) just after Jim got home on Tuesday night. Josh is getting psyched for a bath from Dad. |

| October 23 Here's a shot of Josh upstairs on the office rug. Right now, he's able to amuse himself for about twenty minutes before breaking down into tears of boredom. |

| October 30: You like see food? Here's Joshua at lunch yesterday--his first time actually eating in a restaurant. Happily, not many people were there and the two nearby 60ish women seemed to like Mommy's rendition of Josh's favorite ditty, "Yummy, Yummy Cereal." |

| October 31: For those of you who were hoping for a cute photo of Josh in a Halloween costume, sorry to disappoint you, but really, aren't baby costumes all about parental ego-gratification? It's not like Josh cares that he would make a great Matt Lauer. |

| November 8: Joshua loves his bath because he gets a chance to try to catch the column of water that pours out of that blue bucket in the top right. He's very interested in the dynamics of fluid systems. You can see it all over his face. |

| November 15: Heather may have two mommies, but Joshua has two teeth. Is it possible they're getting sharper? It certainly feels that way when he grabs a finger and chomps. For an even closer look, just mouse over the photo. (Perhaps you've noticed this technique in past photos. ) |
