Dumbo
4 piece punkers Dumbo, started when Jack(vocals) and
Caleb(bass) were skating and decided to start a band. Originally, Jack was
going to play guitar. As he did not have an electric guitar, he 'borrowed' one
from Lucy Johnston (friend of band) she agreed to let us use it as she was very
drunk at the time. Then along came a brainwave. They would get Luke Hobbs (ex
guitarist from the abysmal 'Shortride') to play the old axe. At this time, we
still didn't have a drummer. Regardless, we had our 1st band practice, which
consisted of writing one verse for a song and laughing at scruffy gypos. Then
came along Guy Tomlinson(good friend of the band) who could play a few beats on
the drums. Unfortunatly, he is a lot better on bass than the pots and pans, so
2 days before our 1st gig we had a practise with current drummer Matt Jonat.
Our first gig we played badly with a pork pie ending up on Matt's face!We are
improving gradually, and are making a comeback with new material and new antics
at a gig near you!
