ILLINOIS SPOONPLUGGERS
November, 2000
Our next meeting will be held at the Richport YMCA in
La Grange, on Thursday, November 9, 2000 and will begin at
7:30PM.
The October meeting was attended by 11 members and
featured some informative fishing reports. Jim P. described his
efforts out on the Chain. Very early in his remarks he noted that
what he found on the water did not correspond with what was
presented in published maps. Welcome to the club, Jim! This is a
great example of why spoonpluggers map. You will probably never
find a commercial map with as much information and detail as one
that you make yourself. This is the essence of spoonplugging.
Joe went on to underscore the point with detailed
maps and interpretation of the fishing situation he found on a
Wisconsin river system. Joe does not get out a lot but when he
does, his mapping efforts are much to be admired. Take a look at
his maps that are included in this newsletter. His effort resulted
in a nice catch of walleyes. Excellent work, Joe, keep it up!
It was decided that our December 14th meeting would
be held at the Home Run Inn on Algonquin Road just east of
Arlington Heights Road. We're going with the all you can eat pizza
package that includes garlic bread and soft drinks. The cost is $8
per person. All Illinois Spoonpluggers and their wives/significant
others are invited. Please call Jim D. with your confirmation.
We're looking forward to seeing everybody at this meeting.
Topic of discussion: Besides fishing reports,
November is the time for our annual business meeting. We will
discuss the direction of the club as well as ask for volunteers to
help with the various jobs.
