| Birthplace: Birthday: February 17, 1970 Current Residence: Burbank, CA Current Employment: L.A. Sheriff's Department Song: 'Friends in Low Places' by Garth Brooks. "It descibes the way that Marty, Brian and I can manage to have fun together almost anywhere. Movie: 'The Bodyguard'. My favorite because I'm very protective of my family and friends. Worst Car: A 1978 white Honda Civic hatchback, nicknamed "The Breadbox." This car was perhaps the smallest car I've ever been in, with the exception of Mike's wife's old car (a Geo Metro). I've been in physical therapy for about 11 years ever since I once tried to sit in the backseat of this car. I've only recently regained the use of my legs. Nickname for Martin: Todd calls me "Martinez" (actually pronounced MAR-tih-NEZ") or "Ripper." Todd is the "T" of the "BMT". He and Brian and I served together as League Officers in the Order of DeMolay way back in 1989/1990. Todd and Brian were members of DeMolay in Pomona along with Mike. I was in a different chapter in Covina but visited Pomona Chapter often enough to become an honorary member. Todd and Brian and I traveled frequently during our term of office, once going down to San Diego while Brian was campaigning for a state-level office. We were all poor college students at the time, and Todd was kind enough to offer to buy lunch for Brian and me on the way down. When we walked into the restaurant, Todd had $100. He walked out with $1.08. He didn't seem very happy. I can't repeat exactly what he said. While in San Diego, we met Todd's grandparents. His grandfather took us out for a ride on his boat, a very exciting journey which mainly consisted of Brian and I looking at each other, looking at our watches, looking at Todd, and looking at our watches again. Brian and I were also able to experience the early morning nightmare that is Todd waking up at "Oh-Dark-Thirty" to do his Grasshopper Kung-Fu stuff out on the lawn. When Todd and I hang out it is usually to "shoot some stick", known as "playing billiards" to the layperson. Todd is also an excellent chef. Ask him about the time he made hamburgers for Brian, Kim, and me at a house in Newport Beach one summer. He loves telling that story. [Back to the Groomsmen Page] [Back to Home Page] |
