| Birthplace: Monterey Park, California Birthday: June 30, 1971 Current Residence: Alhambra, CA Current Employment: A Senior Media Planner at MediaCom (a division of Grey Global). She works with Martin. Pet(s): "Herbit the frog and Sammy the snail." [Malinda's allergic to cats and dogs, just like Martin. And she doesn't even like bugs or frogs. This was her attempt at a sarcastic answer.] Do you remember how we first met? How?: Fall of 1997 at Grey Advertising. "You came by the office to meet Martin (I'm still convinced he made you stop by to prove to everyone that his "girlfriend" really existed)." [You know, I've heard that from many of Martin's co-workers.] Do you remember what the first thing was that I said to you?: "Since Martin was introducing you to his new co-worker (me) I think you made some politically correct and appropriate remark like 'nice to meet you,' little did I know that behind this demure facade was a sassy, fun-loving, bratmeister!" What song best describes your personality?: Malinda can't decide, it's either "Don't Worry, Be Happy" by Bobby McFerrin or "Super Freak" by Rick James. [I can't tell if she's serious or kidding about these songs. I'll let you be the judge.] Favorite Food: Pizza and ice cream, or French fries and ice cream...together. Movie: She has three of them, "Better Off Dead, "The Breakfast Club" and "Dead Man Walking." As long as the movie doesn't have any gore or unpredictable violence (like dancing animals wielding flowers), and follows a "girl-meets-boy-likes-girl-boy-falls-in-love-with-girl-they-get-married-and-have-a-bazillion-babies" theme...she'll like it. Worst pet-peeve: It's a toss-up between, 1.) "Bad customer service compounded by staff who don't give a rat's ass about it," or 2.) "those scenes in movies where someone makes a cheesy speech and then you hear a lone clap, then another, and another, until EVERYONE is clapping." [I have to agree with Malinda on both of those.] Most annoying/worst habit: [II think that Martin can attest to this one...] Malinda thinks that there are too many to choose from, but she went with her "ability to find something that kind of bugs you, and doing it repeatedly until it drives you to madness." [Malinda and I also have this in common.] Jody's Notes: I'm a huge believer in fate, and I really believe that it was fate that lead me to my friendship with Malinda. She truly has been "God-sent," and a great friend and supporter since I've moved down to Southern California. She made me feel welcome from "day one." Fate also oppened up the opportunity for me to have the chance to live with Malinda and her sister (Christina) in their house in the interim before Martin and I get married. For those of you that don't know, Malinda's getting married on October 20th and Christina's getting married on November 3rd...yes, and then me on November 17th. We've dubbed our house as "The House of Brides." Conveniently, we have our own support group. [Back to Bridesmaids Page] [Back to Home Page] |
