Heaven-Sent Innocence: Goten's
Appearances Do you remember when Goten first showed up
in your TV screen? If not, allow us to refresh your
memory!

First
Animé Appearance. Goten, our
kawaii little saiyajin, first appears during the
Saiyaman Saga. You first see him in Episode 201 -
The Debut of the Champion and Lover of
Justice! The Great Saiyaman!
In that episode, Gohan comes home after
getting his Great Saiyaman costume, and Goten
comes home as well, hauling with him this huge
fish. Here's how their conversation went at that
scene Goten appeared: Chi-chi: Where'd
you get those clothes?!
Gohan: Don't you like them mother?
Chi-chi: Sometimes you're just like
Gokuu.
Goten: I'm back mum!
Wow, Onii-chan, you look cool!
Gohan: You think so, Goten?

Movie Appearance. Goten is also in the movies, and
he first time he makes his appearance is on Movie
10 - A Dangerous Pair! A Super Warrior Never
Rests! This is the movie where they first
fight the saiyajin Brolli. You can view the
script here. Anyway, he comes in
after the short introduction of Goku, together
Trunks, his best friend, and Videl, his brother's
girlfriend. Here's the conversation that scene:
Goten:
Got it!!
Trunks: Tada!
Goten: Trunks! You came
at a good time!
Trunks: Your too big a klutz!
Goten: We did it ! We
got the Two Star Ball!

First
Appearance As Gotenks. Gotenks first appears in
Episode 236. It is also the same episode where
you'll see --- for the first and last time ---
the failure fused forms of Goten and Trunks. You
don't see Gotenks in GT though, and as I
mentioned earlier, many fans are disappointed
with that development. As for SSJ3 Gotenks... I
still have to look up the episode number for that
one.

Enough
With the Firsts. Earlier, we mentioned the firsts.
So what happened to Goten after his first
appearance? Did he just disappear? ABSOLUTELY
NOT! Goten is in most episodes of the Buu Saga,
although he fought Buu with Trunks as Gotenks.
He reappears at the end of DBZ as a 17-year-old
with a horrible haircut. Anyway, he participates
in the Tenkaichi Budokai and loses to his niece,
Pan.
He also appears in DBGT, though he did not get a
large part in it, since the series focused on
Goku-turned-Chibi, Trunks and Pan. You see him
with his girlfriend (Paresu), though. Later on,
he gets possessed by Bebi. So that's pretty much
it. Many expected him to have a greater role, but
sadly, that didn't happen. |
