-----Original Message----- From: Lassey, Jason Sent: Wednesday, 30 March 2005 3:01 pm To: Team Leaders Subject: Easter Eggs, Hot Cross Buns and Communist Ideology Dear Team Leader, It is purely out of concern, that I write to advise you of my concerns where the celebration of easter in any form has been concerned. In the first instance, how is the celebration of easter not considered discriminatory behaviour against other religious organisations. Will we now celebrate Hannukah (the Jewish Festival of Lights), the Passover (I can't see Ziggy being overly impressed if the staff start painting lambs blood on the door posts and lintels of Telstra buildings nation wide), or even Ramadan? What about more barbaric religions which consider human sacrifice and cannibalism to be the norm? What if the ancient and mystical society of Wicca want to celebrate their holiest of holy days? (I can imagine the cauldrons and witches hats, and newt eyes already....mmmm). I ask you, where is the line drawn? Will it take someone to actually die before Telstra management responds appropriately, or will they continue to cover up what is fast becoming a giant conspiracy against cosmopolitan relgions worldwide. Or perhaps Telstra plans to make Christianity compulsory for it staff and contractors, like Constantine did for the Byzantine Empire in the the early part of last millenium. Perhaps designated Telstra staff will be allowed to administer the rack and other forms of torture to those who refuse to conform to the relgious standard as borne by that most zealous of religious converts, one Ziggy Switowski. Perhaps we can seal these non-conformists up in wax, and set them on fire like Nero used to do to christians when he got bored. At what price is this Religious Renaissance? Furthermore, it was with much dismay, and a smattering of despair that I noted the free handout of certain forms of confection and baked subtances earlier this week. That this is meant to coincide with easter - itself a holy day of pagan origins - fools no one. This is without a doubt proof of the ongoing proliferation of communism amongst the Telstra workforce. This is intolerable, and unAustralian, and an insult to all that I fought and died for, as well as all the brave Australians who have represented this great nation. The Don is no doubt turning in his grave. No self-respecting Australian would put up with the red menace - if he knew that it existed, and perhaps this is why Telstra seeks to perpetrate the lies of the left by handing out gifts to gullible and unsuspecting staff with no sense of the impending dangers. It is, of course, my duty to warn the populace of this clear and present threat. On the one hand we have Telstra crying poor, and being unable to afford approporiate staffing levels, saying it needs to increase its sales lest the company go down into history alongside the likes of OneTel, HIH and the Fitzroy Football Club. On the other hand, Telstra has no qualms with handing out free fruit, hot cross buns and chocolates - pretending its some kind of giant Salvation Army. What next? Will we see Telstra staff handing out blankets and pillows to the homeless? Is the Big Australian aiming to become the Big Charity? No, of course not, in fact it was silly of me to mention it - lets pretend I never even wrote that bit. See, while Telstra proclaims to be the last bastian of Capitalism, it nonetheless behaves like the communist entity that it is. In fact, Karl Marx and Lenin (not the Beatle) would be proud of the lengths at which Telstra goes to in order to propagate the socialist ideal.Typical of most communist entities Telstra promotes class differences, as discussed at length in my last missive. This class distinction is hidden behind a well organised veil of Equal Opportunity, which is only equal when it suits. Indeed, Contractors find themselves in the distinctly uncomfortable postion of being about as equal to Telstra Staff, as monkeys are to elephants. So either this is a religious conspiracy, from the religious right, or else the hidden communist agenda is being pursued by the socialist left. There is no middle ground. No sitting on the fence. Its either black or white. The cat is out of the bag. The battle lines have been drawn. Whose side are you on? Jason M.
