The Fatal 5 were brought together by the Legion at the request of President Chu in order to battle the false threat of the Sun-Eater, but in truth she wanted them to assist with her conspiracy to re-ignite the Titan-Braal war. As soon as the five were united on the prison world of Takron-Galtos, they immediately attacked the Legion and may have succeeded in destroying them if not for the intervention of another contingent of heroes who had been assembled in secret by Cosmic Boy to thwart President Chu's conspiracies. With the two Legion teams working together, the Fatal 5 were apprehended and imprisoned, although Mano rebelled against the murderous Tharok and almost killed him after learning that their mission would kill thousands of innocents.
The Emerald Eye, seeking a host to serve, released the Empress from her imprisonment and she, in turn, released Tharok, Persuader and Validus from their imprisonment to once again form the Fatal 5. They succeeded in stealing the Legion Outpost and taking it to a remote world before once again being defeated by the Legion. |
