The Oversight Watch is a select group of post-human operatives brought together by President McCauley to act as the front line defense of Earth and the UP after the disbanding of the Legion following the Stargate Rift incident. Led in the field by the mysterious Venge, who also acts as the President's Chief of Staff, it's become increasingly obvious that the Watch is little more than hired mercenaries with far more allegiance to the corrupt presidential imposter, Ra's Al Ghul, than to the UP itself. M'Onel has been an unwitting pawn in the group but has since discovered the true identity of the President and become a liability to Al Ghul's administration.
The Oversight Watch immediately developed a rivalry with the Legion when several Legionnaires returned from the Lost Galaxy and saved the President from a terrorist attack. They were also sent to examine the destruction of an anti-matter explosion which was intended to kill those same Legionnaires, only to become engaged in battle with them. The Legion escaped, but the two teams will meet again. |
