Lar was born in the 20th century and was a member of the L.E.G.I.O.N. for a short time. He became a legendary figure when he liberated many genetically altered humans from the Dominators and helped them find suitable worlds to populate. He was later projected into the negative zone by Superboy until a cure could be found for his terminal lead poisoning. 1,000 years later he was released and cured by the Legion to find that many civilizations regard him as a deity due to his "seeding" of many of the worlds that would one day make up the United Planets. He created a new identity as M'Onel, which means "Wanderer" in the Martian language and joined the Legion. Laurel Gand is his distant cousin.
Lar has the native Daxamite abilities of enhanced strength and speed, invulnerability, vision powers and flight, but only in a yellow sun environment.
During the year that half of the Legion was "Lost" in uncharted space, Lar joined President McCauley's OverSight Watch to help protect the UP after the Legion of Super-Heroes was disbanded. |
