Garth gained his abilities after being attacked by the Lightning Beasts of Korbal and left his home planet of Winath to track down his older brother, Mekt. During his journey, he found himself aboard a ship bound for Earth with Imra Ardeen and Rokk Krinn, and the three prevented an assassination attempt made on the life of interplanetary entrepreneur RJ Brande. Brande was so impressed with the teen-agers' courage and team-work that he convinced them to form the Legion of Super-Heroes. He lost his right arm when he finally located his brother and would have been killed by him if not for the arrival of his sister, Ayla. Garth was romantically linked with Saturn Girl prior to his death.
Garth had the ability to absorb and generate electrical energy.
Garth was among the group of Legionnaires that was "Lost" in an uncharted galaxy for a year. His arm was restored but he seemingly sacrificed his life to defeat the Progenitor and save the galaxy and his fellow Legionnaires. |
