Dr Regulus worked for Morgna Industries as a research scientist specializing in solar energy and he had created a suit of armor made from radio-active gold. A delivery to the lab by the company owner's son, Dirk Morgna, distracted Regulus and the explosive result led to him being fired. Using his gold armor, Regulus took Dirk hostage in exchange for more gold to continue his experi-ments and when the Legion arrived he was able to hold them off as he injected Dirk with liquified radioactive gold to see whether it would kill him or give him solar powers. The serum did empower Dirk and he attacked Regulus, blinding him and melting his armor, fusing it to his body. Dr Regulus was able to escape imprisonment and once again faced the Legion. He was killed when Leviathan doused him with toxic liquid.

Lightning Lord is the older brother of Legion-naires, Live Wire and Spark. Born a single child on a world in which twin births is the norm, Mekt grew up as something of an outcast and become more and more embittered. After being attacked by the Lightning Beasts of Korbal and waking up with the ability to generate lightning, Mekt left home and traveled to various worlds gaining a criminal record. His younger brother Garth finally tracked him down, believing that his criminal conduct was due to the lightning affecting his sanity, but eventually he realized that Mekt was responsible for his own actions. Mekt attacked Garth and severed his arm before the arrival of their sister Ayla. The twins attacked Mekt together and defeated him. He has received therapy for his abherrant behaviour and is now on Winath.
