Gim was an officer in the Science Police but was inducted into the Legion with the UP draft. He gained his unique abilities from a strange meteor that crashed near him while he was chasing a criminal on the surface of Mars. The UP elected him as the leader of the Legion but after the team's first mission and the death of Kid Quantum, it became apparant that Cosmic Boy was more suited for the role of leader.
Gim sacrificed his life to stop the villainous Dr Regulus from harming his fellow Legionnaires, after which, the Emerald Eye mystically transferred his powers to Salu Digby, who took on the code-name of Leviathan to honor the fallen hero.
Gim had the ability to make his body grow to enormous heights with proportionate mass and strength. |
