Ayla was inducted into the Legion during the UP draft, but her arrival led to the expulsion of her brother, Live Wire, at the insistance of UP President Chu. Live Wire was allowed to rejoin when Chu was removed from office and replaced with RJ Brande. Like Live Wire and her older brother Mekt, Ayla gained her powers from an attack by the Lightning Beasts of Korbal. During an incident in the 20th century, her powers were altered but her original powers were quickly regained after the team's return to their own century. Ayla is romantically involved with Chameleon.
