| The Progenitor is actually the former Legionnaire Jan Arrah. During an attempt to seal a spatial rift, he and several other Legionnaires were drawn into the rift as it closed and were thrown outside of the material universe. He survived by transforming his body into tromium and saved the other Legion-naires by encasing them in crystal pods made of tromium. Upon his attempt to re-enter the physical universe, he was separated from the Outpost and apparantly shunted several billion years into the past. His altered physiology allowed him to survive but the unimaginable length of his life led him to become slightly insane and, believing himself to be a god, he began taking a hand in the creation of life. Upon his reunion with his former team-mates he slipped in and out of coherance and casually murdered Monstress, causing the Lost Legion-naires to confront him. Their battle led to the escape of the Omniphagos and as the Progenitor battled the creature, the two of them merged into one gigantic monster. Live Wire seemingly sacrificed his life to kill the enormous beast as his team-mates escaped back to UP space. |
