The PREDATORS, a team that finished the 2001 Regular Season in 7th place and the most active team during the pre-season draft have taken an early lead.  According to the team's stats, their team batting average of .299 was second in the league to the Blue Collars.   Their pitching staff was ranked 9th in the 10-team league.

At a close second, the Blue Collars made the most of their early season steal of Vladimir Guerrero for the injury-plagued Juan Gonzalez.   Guerrero is currently batting .384 with 7 homeruns.  Their team batting average was .302, the league's best.  They were also leaders in HRs, hits and walks.  Their pitching staff was ranked 4th in the league.
