Blue Collars
Up

The history of the Blue Collars began inaugural season of the new Interstate League in 2000.  The original name of the team was The MANTO's.  Although it boasted such names as: Thome, Rolen, Griffey, Gonzalez and Rivera, the team finished dead last in the then 14-team league.

During the following pre-season, the team, then re-named The Mudville 9, traded away it's first round pick to the Predators for Alex Rodriguez, affectionately referred to as "A-rod".  During the draft, the team added Barry Zito and Eric Milton to their staff.   As the season wore on, young studs like Pujols, Soriano, and Mulder became key parts of this team.  Unfortunately, the team ended the 2001 Regular Season in the ninth place with a record 182-209-27 (.468 pct.), 56 games behind the first place Rib Eaters.

Recently, the franchise was bought and moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Under a new, aggressive owner and management, and armed with a balanced nucleus of veterans and youth, the now re-named Blue Collars, are poised to be a force to be reckoned with in 2002.
